1. Trim and peel 1 lb of asparagus. Wash them. Heat some olive oil and butter in a pan over medium heat.
2. Add the asparagus and coat them in the hot oil and butter with tongs.
3. Put the lid on the pan and leave the asparagus to cook for about 3 minutes.
4. Remove the asparagus from the pan when they are bright green and crisp.
